Ashley Mixed Media Group Art Exhibition Sunday 2 November 10.30am to 4.30pm at Oak Tree Barn, Blore Heath Farm (TF9 2EG). During the day there will be the opportunity to ‘have a go at drawing’! Sessions open to people of all ages who would like to try their hand will be free. Times are to be arranged and will be advertised on the Arts Fest website. He’s won many awards and he’s a published author and has done lots of television stuff, like The Royal Variety Performance, The Slammer (CBBC) and Little Howard’s Big Question (BBC1) – yes, he’s even had his own television show!
Hullabaloo Arts
Hullabaloo Arts is a collective of like-minded artists from a range of disciplines led by artists Cathie Powell-Davies and Erik Davies. Hullabaloo initiates and facilitates workshops, events, parades and exhibitions working with schools, families, youth groups, community groups and at festivals.
Hullabaloo’s goal is for greater participation and to encourage people to explore lots of different forms of creative expression. Hullabaloo aims to work with people to explore personal stories and group narratives, discovering meaningful, inspirational and above all fun experiences together.

J. W. Ironmonger is based in Market Drayton, and has had a huge success with his first book, ‘The Notable Brain of Maximilian Ponder’, which started a bidding war between three leading publishers. His latest novel ‘The Coincidence Authority’ is now out in paperback. website
Kate Long has written several bestsellers including ‘The Bad Mother’s Handbook’ which was filmed in 2007. Her novels usually revolve around family drama and strained relationships, involving a range of issues such as adoption, infidelity, disability and mental health. – website

Priscilla Masters is the creator of the Detective Inspector Joanna Piercy novels set in the Staffordshire moorlands, the latest of which is Gravestones, published 2009 by Allison & Busby. She is also the creator of coroner Martha Gunn, set in the medieval town of Shrewsbury, the latest of which is Frozen Charlotte published Jan 2010 by Severn House. Stafford Orchestra – Friday 31st October 7.30 pm at St Mary’s Church.
The Stafford Orchestra under the baton of local musician Paul Nevins, is performing a delectable choice of music on as part of the new Drayton Arts Festival. There is music to send shivers down your spine, especially selected for All Hallows Eve, and a foot tapping World War 1 medley to sing. They have chosen music for a wide range of tastes, including Mussorgsky’s ‘Night on a Bare Mountain’ (for those who dare to venture out.) Come and be transported back a century to music of Butterworth, Grainger and Bantock and then enjoy familiar pieces, such as Saint-Saens ‘Danse Macabre’.
The Stafford Orchestra has been performing in and around the area of Stafford since 1964 and is looking forward to its first visit to Market Drayton. After first appearing as guest conductor, Paul has been Music Director of the orchestra since 2010. Tickets are available, priced £8/£5, from the Festival Drayton Centre or on the door.- website
