Singing for Fun – U3A 11am to 12noon – Festival Drayton.

A very informal, fun hour of singing and listening to songs. We welcome children and adults alike. The Group sings a variety of songs from WW1 to show tunes, folk tunes to children’s songs. Come and join us as part of the festival.


Patchwork of MD – 11am – 3pm at Charter Court Communal Hall

Residents from Charter Court and other sheltered housing schemes will be working together, using recycled materials, to make a patchwork artwork representing Market Drayton. Other seniors are welcome to take part.


Creative Writing Surgery with Mary Williams 2pm – 6pm – Market Drayton Library

Local writers can take the opportunity to discuss their writing project with Mary Williams,

apublished author of fiction and poetry. Book a half hour session for help in shaping the plot, story setting, developing characters or simply to discuss an idea for a project. Bring a synopsis or the first 5 pages with you. If you have a finished manuscript Mary will offer advice on your next step towards publication. Sessions can be booked at Market Drayton Library.


Every Child an Artist 11am – 12noon & 1pm – 2pm at the Red Lion

Junior Bake-o-rama – Spooky Bakes for Halloween 10am – 11am – Market Drayton Library

Bake your most terrifying, terrific treats and bring them along to be judged. Special prizes for the winners.


The Jacobi Chorale and English Pro Musica Ensemble 7.30pm – 9.30pm at St Mary’s Church (£7)

Venice in the 17th and 18th centuries was the richest city on earth and its cultural capital. Many composers emerged from Venice, however perhaps only a handful have had a lasting impact;

Claudio Montiverdi and the Gabrielis – Andrea and Giovanni. The Jacobi Chorale embraces early music, and, with the English Pro Musica Ensemble, this year will perform “The Glory of Venice” as the Festival’s opening concert. The concert will include excerpts from Monteverdi Vespers of 1610 and Vivaldi’s Gloria.


The Zone Presents – Family Event at Fairfields 1.30pm – 3.30pm at The Marble Pitch

A range of fun activities for all the family including: Toffee Apple Decorating, Apple Bobbing, Mask Making, Costume Competition and Face Painting. Just turn up to take part.
